Estimated newspaper, television, radio, Facebook, Google, online news, press-release and outdoor advertising costs
Prepared by Media BD Agency Research Desk
Executive summary: Bangladesh advertising cost benchmarks for 2026
The table below is designed for initial budgeting. It combines current public rate cards, platform documentation, vendor-listed prices and Media BD Agency planning estimates. The “evidence type” column is essential: a published rate card is not the same as a market estimate.
| Channel | Common buying unit | Indicative 2026 planning range | Evidence type |
|---|---|---|---|
| Printed newspaper | Column-inch, fixed size or package | BDT 3,500-30,000 per column-inch on publicly available examples; small display ads often BDT 20,000-150,000; premium or full-page placements can reach several hundred thousand to more than BDT 1 million | Published rate cards plus calculated examples |
| Television | 10-, 20- or 30-second spot; sponsorship package | Published NTV examples range from BDT 2,700 to BDT 33,000 for a 30-second spot depending on time and position; monthly campaigns commonly require several hundred thousand taka before production and tax | Published broadcaster rate card |
| Radio | 10-30 second spot; monthly frequency package | BDT 500-4,000 per spot and about BDT 50,000-300,000 per station per month for repeated schedules | Media BD planning estimate; station quote required |
| Facebook and Instagram | Auction: impression, click, lead, message or conversion | Local benchmark CPC often BDT 5-20; CPA can range from roughly BDT 150 for lower-friction offers to BDT 2,000+ for high-value sectors | Platform auction guidance plus local benchmark data |
| Google Search Ads | Auction: click or conversion | BDT 15-150 per click is a practical local planning envelope for many campaigns; high-value keywords may exceed BDT 200-500 per click | Media BD planning estimate based on auction model; validate in Keyword Planner |
| Online newspaper display | CPM, impressions, hours or fixed package | Standard published banner rates commonly BDT 40-80 CPM; premium rich media can be BDT 150-200 CPM; hourly takeovers/interstitials range from about BDT 5,000 to BDT 30,000 in reviewed media kits | Published publisher media kits |
| Press-release publishing | Per portal, per newspaper or multi-site package | BDT 5,000-15,000 for selected online placements; BDT 20,000-75,000 for multi-portal packages; premium print or major-media options are custom and can exceed BDT 25,000-200,000 | Published agency packages plus market planning range |
| Outdoor advertising | Per site per month; rotation or screen package | Static or standard digital locations often BDT 30,000-150,000 per month; prime Dhaka or landmark screens can exceed BDT 150,000-500,000; major custom sites may be higher | Vendor-listed indicative ranges |
What these numbers mean
A low price does not automatically mean a cost-effective campaign. A BDT 5 click that produces no qualified lead is expensive, while a BDT 150 click that produces a profitable customer may be efficient. Likewise, a premium newspaper page can be useful for a high-trust corporate announcement even when it cannot be measured like an ecommerce advertisement.
Budget decisions should therefore connect three numbers: media cost, response quality and business outcome. The relevant outcome may be a sale, appointment, admission inquiry, property site visit, distributor application, event attendance, brand-search increase or corporate visibility.
Research methodology
This report was prepared in July 2026 to give advertisers a transparent planning reference. The research reviewed official publisher and broadcaster rate cards, official Meta and Google pricing documentation, publicly listed Bangladesh vendor packages and local campaign benchmark material.
Four evidence classes
| Code | Evidence class | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| PRC | Published rate card | A price publicly issued by a media owner or broadcaster. It may still be outdated, negotiable or subject to tax and availability. |
| PAG | Platform auction guidance | Official explanation of how Facebook or Google calculates cost. These platforms do not publish one fixed Bangladesh price. |
| MVR | Market-listed vendor range | A range published by a Bangladesh media or service provider. It is useful for planning but is not an audited industry average. |
| MBP | Media BD planning benchmark | An original budgeting range used where current public rate cards are unavailable. It must be validated through a written quotation or platform forecast. |
Normalization rules
- All prices are shown in Bangladeshi taka (BDT).
- Rates are rounded where a range is more useful than false precision.
- When a public rate card is older than 2026 but remains the latest accessible card, the report identifies that limitation.
- Media costs are separated from production, tax, agency and technology costs wherever possible.
- Digital auction estimates are presented as ranges because results vary by account, market, offer and creative quality.
- Outdoor and PR rates are treated as indicative because inventory, placement and editorial requirements change frequently.
Limitations
Bangladesh does not have one public database containing every commercial advertising price. Many media owners provide quotations only after receiving the campaign date, size, duration, category and payment terms. Negotiated discounts are normally confidential. Consequently, this report should be used to prepare a budget and compare quotations, not to demand a fixed tariff from every supplier.
1. Newspaper advertising cost in Bangladesh
Newspaper advertising remains relevant for corporate announcements, public notices, tenders, recruitment, property, education, healthcare, retail launches and campaigns where publication credibility matters. Pricing is normally calculated by column-inch, predefined module size, page position, color, publication day and number of insertions.
Published newspaper rate example
The Daily Star’s publicly accessible advertising page links to a rate card effective from 1 August 2023. Although this is not a guaranteed 2026 quotation, it is a useful transparent example of how a major English newspaper structures commercial rates.
| Placement | Saturday-Thursday | Friday |
|---|---|---|
| Front page | BDT 18,000 per column-inch | BDT 19,000 per column-inch |
| Back page | BDT 14,000 | BDT 15,000 |
| Page 3 | BDT 10,000 | BDT 11,000 |
| Page 5, color | BDT 8,000 | BDT 9,000 |
| Page 5, black and white | BDT 6,500 | BDT 7,500 |
| Other inside pages, color | BDT 5,500 | BDT 6,000 |
| Other inside pages, black and white | BDT 4,500 | BDT 5,000 |
| Career, legal and tender notices, black and white | BDT 3,500 | BDT 4,000 |
How to calculate a newspaper advertisement
A newspaper may quote a rate per column-inch. The basic formula is:
Estimated media cost = width in columns x height in inches x rate per column-inch
For example, a four-column by five-inch advertisement contains 20 column-inches. At BDT 5,500 per column-inch, the media value is approximately BDT 110,000 before tax, design, special-position charges or discounts.
The Daily Star rate card states that a full main-newspaper page contains 164 column-inches. At BDT 5,500 per column-inch, a theoretical inside color full page is about BDT 902,000 before adjustments. Premium pages have different dimensions and rates, so they should be calculated from the publication’s specifications rather than by reusing the inside-page formula.
Practical 2026 planning ranges
| Print option | Planning range | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Small classified or notice | BDT 3,000-30,000 | Recruitment, legal, lost document, small local notice |
| Small display advertisement | BDT 20,000-150,000 | Education, property, retail, event, product announcement |
| Quarter or half page | BDT 150,000-700,000+ | Corporate, real estate, education admission, major promotion |
| Full page or premium position | BDT 500,000-1,500,000+ per insertion | National launch, corporate announcement, high-visibility campaign |
| Multi-newspaper campaign | BDT 300,000-3,000,000+ | National awareness, public information or major launch |
These are planning ranges, not universal tariffs. Bangla and English newspapers, regional editions, supplements and special issues can differ substantially.
Newspaper cost factors
- Page position: front, back, page 3 and other early pages usually command premiums.
- Color: color space normally costs more than black and white.
- Publication day: Friday or high-demand issues may carry a higher rate.
- Size: the total column-inch area is a major driver.
- Edition and geography: national, city or regional circulation changes the quote.
- Category: legal notices, tenders, recruitment and commercial display ads may use separate schedules.
- Frequency: multiple insertions may qualify for a negotiated package.
- Special issue: anniversary, festival, admission or industry supplements can have separate prices.
- Deadline: urgent material or late changes can add cost or reduce availability.
How to measure newspaper response
Use a dedicated phone number, QR code, short URL, coupon code or response phrase. Record publication date, page, size, calls, website visits, qualified inquiries and sales. Newspaper can also affect branded search and direct traffic even when a reader does not use the printed tracking device.
2. Television advertising cost in Bangladesh
Television advertising is normally sold by spot duration, program, time band, break position, news position, frequency and sponsorship package. The final campaign cost has two main parts: production and airtime.
Published NTV airtime example
NTV’s public rate card provides a useful benchmark for a national television channel. Its listed 30-second commercial rates include:
| Placement | Published 30-second rate |
|---|---|
| Off-peak | BDT 2,700-3,600 |
| Fixed position | BDT 16,500 |
| Mid-break drama/program | BDT 21,000 |
| Before news | BDT 21,000 |
| Immediately before news | BDT 25,500 |
| First mid-break in news | BDT 30,000 |
| First spot or first mid-news position | BDT 33,000 |
NTV also lists a monthly 30-minute package between 5:00 pm and 7:20 pm at BDT 810,000 and states that 15% VAT applies to the gross advertisement value. Channel policies, tax and packages can change, so a current booking order is necessary.
Television budget examples
Example A: focused off-peak test. Thirty 30-second spots at BDT 3,600 would equal BDT 108,000 in gross airtime before VAT, production and service costs.
Example B: program and news mix. Thirty 30-second spots at an average BDT 21,000 would equal BDT 630,000 before VAT and production.
Example C: premium news visibility. Twenty 30-second spots at BDT 30,000 would equal BDT 600,000 before VAT. Premium first-position placement may cost more.
Production cost
Airtime does not include the commercial film. A simple online video may start below the cost of a full broadcast television commercial, while a TVC involving a director, actors, locations, art direction, studio, animation, licensed music, color grading and multiple versions can cost several hundred thousand or several million taka.
One Bangladesh production provider publicly lists online-video production starting at BDT 95,000. This is a starting reference, not a national average and not necessarily a full television-commercial specification.
Practical television planning ranges
| Campaign level | Airtime planning range | Production planning range |
|---|---|---|
| Small test or off-peak schedule | BDT 100,000-400,000 | BDT 75,000-300,000 |
| Focused monthly campaign | BDT 400,000-1,500,000 | BDT 150,000-800,000 |
| National multi-channel campaign | BDT 1,500,000-10,000,000+ | BDT 500,000-5,000,000+ |
Television cost factors
- Channel audience and distribution
- Prime time versus off-peak
- News, drama, sports or entertainment programming
- First spot, last spot or ordinary break position
- Spot duration
- Number of spots and campaign duration
- Season, election, sports tournament, Ramadan, Eid or major event
- Program sponsorship, logo presence or branded segment
- Production complexity and talent fees
- VAT, payment terms and agency arrangements
Television measurement
Television measurement should combine reach estimates with response signals: branded-search lift, direct traffic, QR scans, campaign phone calls, retailer response, geographic sales changes and pre/post awareness research. A television campaign should not be evaluated only through immediate online conversions when its role is national awareness.
3. Radio advertising cost in Bangladesh
Commercial FM radio can support commuter audiences, youth campaigns, events, retail offers and local frequency. Unlike the reviewed newspaper and television examples, current Bangladesh station rate cards are not consistently published online. It would therefore be misleading to claim one official market average.
Media BD Agency 2026 radio planning benchmark
| Radio item | Planning range | Evidence note |
|---|---|---|
| 10-30 second standard spot | BDT 500-4,000 per broadcast | MBP: confirm with current station quotation |
| Repeated monthly schedule on one station | BDT 50,000-300,000 | MBP: depends on frequency and time band |
| Presenter mention or branded segment | BDT 20,000-200,000+ | MBP: highly dependent on program and deliverables |
| Audio production | BDT 10,000-75,000+ | MBP: voice, music, studio and versions affect price |
These figures are original planning intervals, not published station tariffs. Media buyers should replace them with the most recent written quote when preparing a client budget.
Radio cost factors
- Station and coverage area
- Drive time, evening or off-peak schedule
- Program popularity
- Spot duration and frequency
- Presenter endorsement or live read
- Sponsorship, contest or event integration
- Production, voice artist and music licensing
- Campaign duration and seasonal demand
Why frequency matters
Radio is a repetition medium. Buying only one or two spots is unlikely to build recall. A useful plan normally distributes spots across several days and relevant time bands. The advertiser should calculate the effective cost per day and per estimated audience opportunity rather than comparing only the price of one spot.
Radio measurement
Use a memorable code, short phone number, WhatsApp keyword, dedicated landing page or event registration link. Compare response by time band where possible. For brand campaigns, conduct a simple awareness survey before and after the schedule.
4. Facebook and Instagram advertising cost in Bangladesh
Meta does not publish a fixed Facebook advertising price for Bangladesh. Advertisers enter an auction. Delivery and cost depend on the campaign objective, audience, bid strategy, expected action rate, ad quality, placement, competition and available budget. Meta’s official guidance recommends starting with at least USD 5 over more than six days as a basic learning budget, but serious commercial tests normally require more.
Local benchmark ranges
A Bangladesh-focused 2025 benchmark published by KuiperZ reported CPC commonly around BDT 5-20, with large differences by industry and conversion difficulty. Its examples included lower CPA in education and ecommerce and much higher CPA in real estate and finance. These figures are directional, not guaranteed account results.
| Metric | Indicative local range | Interpretation |
|---|---|---|
| Link CPC | BDT 5-20 commonly observed | Cost for one link click; not the same as a lead or sale |
| Lead or low-friction conversion | BDT 100-400 | Possible for strong education, ecommerce or simple enquiry offers |
| Healthcare or considered service lead | BDT 500-800+ | Varies by location, service, policy and qualification |
| Real estate or high-value lead | BDT 1,000-2,000+ | Lead quality and qualification matter more than form volume |
| Monthly test budget | BDT 15,000-50,000 | Suitable for a focused local offer with limited audience and creative set |
| Growth budget | BDT 50,000-300,000+ | Allows more audiences, creative tests, retargeting and conversion data |
Facebook cost factors
- Objective: reach, video views, messages, leads, app installs and purchases have different auction behavior.
- Audience size: extremely narrow audiences may become expensive or saturate quickly.
- Location: Dhaka, nationwide or expatriate targeting creates different competition.
- Industry: high-value property, finance, education and healthcare offers need different qualification.
- Creative quality: weak visuals and unclear offers reduce response and can increase cost.
- Landing experience: a slow page or confusing form wastes paid clicks.
- Season: Eid, Ramadan, admissions and major sales periods can increase advertiser competition.
- Tracking: poor event setup prevents the algorithm from learning from meaningful actions.
- Account history: established data and proven creatives may perform differently from a new account.
Facebook budget calculation example
Assume a BDT 50,000 media budget produces an average CPC of BDT 10. The campaign may generate around 5,000 link clicks. If 2% become qualified leads, that is 100 leads and an estimated media CPA of BDT 500. If only 20 of those leads are genuinely qualified, the cost per qualified lead is BDT 2,500. This shows why advertisers should not report the cheapest surface metric without checking lead quality.
Costs outside the ad budget
A Meta campaign may also require creative design, video, copywriting, catalog setup, pixel and Conversions API configuration, landing pages, CRM integration, reporting and campaign management. These are not automatically included in the amount paid to Meta.
Recommended metrics
Track CPM, reach, frequency, click-through rate, CPC, landing-page views, qualified leads, CPA, cost per qualified lead, purchase value, return on ad spend and cancellation or invalid-lead rate. The primary metric must match the business objective.
5. Google Ads cost in Bangladesh
Google Ads also uses an auction. Google explains that actual CPC is often lower than the maximum CPC bid because the advertiser normally pays what is required to clear Ad Rank thresholds and beat the competitor below. Competition, quality, search context and Ad Rank influence the final cost.
Bangladesh planning ranges
Google does not publish one Bangladesh CPC table. The ranges below are Media BD Agency budgeting estimates and should be checked in Google Keyword Planner for the exact language, location and keyword list.
| Search category | Indicative CPC | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Lower-competition local or informational terms | BDT 10-40 | May have lower purchase intent |
| General commercial services | BDT 30-150 | Common planning envelope for many Bangladesh campaigns |
| Competitive B2B, software, property, healthcare, finance or legal terms | BDT 100-500+ | Small volumes and strong commercial intent can raise bids |
| Focused monthly test | BDT 30,000-100,000 | One service, controlled keyword set and location |
| Growth search program | BDT 100,000-500,000+ | Multiple services, broader geography and conversion optimization |
Google Search cost factors
- Keyword commercial intent
- Number and quality of competing advertisers
- Ad relevance and expected click-through rate
- Landing-page usefulness and speed
- Location, device and time
- Match type and negative-keyword control
- Conversion history and bidding strategy
- Brand versus non-brand search
- Language and spelling variations
Google budget calculation example
Suppose a campaign spends BDT 50,000 at an average CPC of BDT 50. It receives approximately 1,000 clicks. If 5% become qualified enquiries, the campaign produces 50 enquiries at BDT 1,000 media cost per enquiry. If ten become customers, the advertising cost per customer is BDT 5,000 before management and production costs.
Do not confuse CPC with profitability
A high CPC can be acceptable when the customer value is high. A software, property or corporate-service campaign may profit from a small number of qualified conversions. Conversely, a low CPC can be wasteful when users are looking for free information rather than a paid service.
Recommended metrics
Track search terms, impression share, quality signals, click-through rate, CPC, conversions, qualified conversions, CPA, cost per customer and revenue. Call tracking is particularly important for businesses where customers phone instead of submitting a form.
6. Online newspaper advertising cost in Bangladesh
Online news advertising can be purchased through banner impressions, homepage takeovers, interstitials, rich media, sponsored impressions, video, advertorials and social amplification. The price depends on the publication’s audience, placement, device, targeting and format.
Published Prothom Alo digital rates
Prothom Alo’s January 2025 digital media kit lists home-page banner pricing at:
- BDT 75 CPM for super-premium positions
- BDT 60 CPM for premium positions
- BDT 50 CPM for value positions
- BDT 75 CPM for anchor or sticky positions
The same media kit lists outstream or rich-media formats around BDT 150-200 CPM, interstitial or page-takeover formats at BDT 30,000 per hour with a four-hour minimum, and e-paper packages of BDT 200,000-400,000 for one million sponsored impressions depending on position. A separate e-paper interstitial is shown at BDT 5,000 per hour.
Published Ittefaq digital rates
Ittefaq’s public media kit lists standard display rates of BDT 40 CPM for regular positions, BDT 50 CPM for premium positions, BDT 60 CPM for super-premium positions and BDT 80 CPM for an anchor format. It also lists interstitial advertising at BDT 8,000 per hour with a four-hour minimum.
How CPM translates into budget
CPM means cost per one thousand impressions.
Media cost = CPM x impressions / 1,000
At BDT 40 CPM, one million impressions cost approximately BDT 40,000. At BDT 80 CPM, the same number of impressions costs approximately BDT 80,000. This calculation does not include creative production, tax, targeting premiums or minimum-order rules.
Online news planning ranges
| Format | Indicative range | Buying note |
|---|---|---|
| Standard banner display | BDT 40-80 CPM | Based on reviewed national publisher media kits |
| Rich media or video | BDT 150-200 CPM | Creative development may be extra |
| Interstitial or takeover | BDT 5,000-30,000 per hour | Minimum-hour requirements may apply |
| Premium sponsored one-million-impression package | BDT 200,000-400,000 | Based on Prothom Alo e-paper positions |
| Monthly multi-publication display plan | BDT 100,000-1,000,000+ | Depends on publishers, impressions and formats |
Online newspaper cost factors
- Home page, article page or section page
- Desktop, mobile or both
- CPM versus fixed-hour buying
- Banner size and visibility
- Rich media, animation or video
- Geographic, content or demographic targeting
- Frequency cap
- Campaign duration and minimum inventory
- Publisher audience and editorial category
Measurement
Use UTM parameters, ad-server reports, landing-page analytics and conversion tracking. Request delivered impressions, clicks, click-through rate, device split, geography and any make-good policy for underdelivery. For takeovers, review visibility and frequency rather than only clicks.
7. Press-release publishing cost in Bangladesh
Press-release cost depends on whether the service includes writing, editing, publication, distribution, images, translation, print placement, reporting and the number or quality of outlets. It is important to separate earned editorial coverage from paid or sponsored publication.
Published package examples
Media BD Agency currently lists selected online press-release publishing from BDT 5,000 for one online portal, BDT 8,000 for two portals, BDT 20,000 for five selected media sites and printed-newspaper PR support from BDT 25,000. WebTech publicly lists a BDT 35,000 package covering five news sites.
Practical planning ranges
| PR option | Indicative price | Typical inclusion |
|---|---|---|
| Writing or editing only | BDT 3,000-15,000 | One Bangla or English release, revisions and formatting |
| Selected online portal placement | BDT 5,000-15,000 per portal | Publication and live-link proof |
| Multi-portal package | BDT 20,000-75,000+ | Several selected sites, formatting and report |
| Print newspaper PR or advertorial | BDT 25,000-200,000+ | Depends on newspaper, size, placement and editorial format |
| Corporate PR campaign | BDT 100,000-1,000,000+ | Strategy, content, media outreach, events, monitoring and reporting |
Press-release cost factors
- Writing versus ready-to-publish content
- Bangla, English or bilingual preparation
- Online, print or both
- Outlet authority and audience
- Number of publications
- Urgency and publication date
- Word count, images and embedded media
- Newsworthiness and editorial review
- Distribution, monitoring and final report
SEO and disclosure caution
A paid publication should follow the publisher’s disclosure and link policy. Advertisers should not buy press releases only to obtain keyword-rich dofollow links. Google indexing, ranking and link treatment cannot be guaranteed. The strongest PR material communicates real news, uses accurate claims and provides useful evidence.
How to measure PR
Track publication relevance, estimated audience, referral traffic, brand-search growth, citations, journalist enquiries, social discussion, message accuracy and stakeholder response. Do not judge a PR campaign only by the number of URLs in a report.
8. Outdoor advertising cost in Bangladesh
Outdoor advertising includes static billboards, digital LED screens, building wraps, gantries, bus branding, portable LED displays, shopping-mall screens and transit formats. Prices are usually quoted per site per month, although digital inventory can be sold by rotation, time or campaign package.
Vendor-listed Bangladesh ranges
Current Bangladesh vendor pages commonly place digital billboard costs around BDT 30,000-150,000 per month for standard locations, with prime Dhaka or large sites reaching BDT 200,000 or more. Other local listings place premium LED screens around BDT 150,000-500,000 per month. Because these are vendor-published ranges rather than audited market averages, advertisers should compare exact site photographs, traffic direction, screen share and proof-of-play.
Practical outdoor planning ranges
| Outdoor format | Indicative media rent | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Static billboard in a secondary location | BDT 30,000-80,000 per month | Printing, installation and permit may be extra |
| Static billboard in a high-traffic location | BDT 80,000-200,000+ | Size and visibility strongly affect price |
| Standard digital or LED screen rotation | BDT 30,000-150,000 per month | Check share of loop and daily operating hours |
| Prime Dhaka LED or landmark screen | BDT 150,000-500,000+ | Premium intersections and large screens can be higher |
| Large custom building or national network | BDT 500,000-several million | Custom quotation |
| Portable LED or event screen | BDT 8,000+ per day | Transport, operator and power may be extra |
Outdoor cost factors
- Location and traffic volume
- Road direction and viewing time
- Board or screen size
- Illumination and operating hours
- Static exclusivity versus shared digital rotation
- Length of campaign
- Printing, installation and removal
- Structural, electricity and maintenance requirements
- Permissions, compliance and site ownership
- Monitoring and proof-of-display
Questions to ask before booking an LED screen
- How many advertisers share the loop?
- How many seconds is each advertisement?
- How frequently does it repeat?
- What are the operating hours?
- Can the provider supply dated proof-of-play?
- Is the screen visible to the intended direction of traffic?
- Are electricity, animation preparation and tax included?
Outdoor measurement
Use short URLs, QR codes, geographic sales comparison, branded-search trends, store footfall and pre/post awareness research. Mobile location studies may be possible for major campaigns, but they require specialist data and privacy controls.
Illustrative advertising budget models
The following models show how a total budget might be allocated. They are examples, not quotations.
Model A: local campaign with BDT 100,000
| Item | Example allocation |
|---|---|
| Facebook and Instagram media | BDT 45,000 |
| Google Search Ads | BDT 25,000 |
| Creative production | BDT 15,000 |
| Tracking and landing-page improvement | BDT 5,000 |
| Management and reporting | BDT 10,000 |
This model suits a focused local service, education intake, clinic service or ecommerce offer. It does not provide meaningful TV or national outdoor frequency.
Model B: growth campaign with BDT 500,000
| Item | Example allocation |
|---|---|
| Facebook and Instagram | BDT 150,000 |
| Google Search and remarketing | BDT 100,000 |
| Online newspaper display or PR | BDT 75,000 |
| Selected outdoor site | BDT 80,000 |
| Creative production | BDT 50,000 |
| Tracking, management and reporting | BDT 45,000 |
This model gives several channels distinct roles: search captures demand, Meta creates and retargets demand, online media adds visibility, and outdoor creates local repetition.
Model C: national launch with BDT 3,000,000
| Item | Example allocation |
|---|---|
| Television airtime | BDT 1,000,000 |
| Digital media | BDT 700,000 |
| Newspaper and online news | BDT 400,000 |
| Outdoor | BDT 350,000 |
| PR and media relations | BDT 150,000 |
| Creative production and adaptation | BDT 250,000 |
| Research, management and reporting | BDT 150,000 |
The correct mix depends on the product, audience and distribution. A B2B company may shift television and newspaper money into search, LinkedIn, events and direct account-based activity. A mass consumer brand may require more reach and frequency.
How to choose the right advertising channel
| Business need | Channels to consider | Main measurement |
|---|---|---|
| Immediate high-intent enquiries | Google Search, remarketing, call campaigns | Qualified CPA and customer acquisition cost |
| Visual product discovery | Facebook, Instagram, video, creators | Purchases, qualified messages, ROAS |
| National awareness | TV, online news, outdoor, Facebook video | Reach, frequency, brand-search lift |
| Corporate credibility or announcement | Newspaper, PR, business media, online news | Relevant coverage, referral and stakeholder response |
| Local retail visibility | Outdoor, Meta location targeting, radio | Footfall, local sales and reach |
| Admission or event leads | Meta lead ads, Google Search, newspaper where appropriate | Qualified enquiries and registrations |
| Property marketing | Meta, Google, online news, outdoor, selected print | Qualified leads, site visits and bookings |
Five questions before approving a media plan
- What exact business outcome must the campaign produce?
- Where does the audience discover and compare this type of offer?
- Is the budget large enough to create useful frequency?
- Can the response be tracked from media exposure to qualified outcome?
- Are creative, landing page and follow-up systems ready before the campaign starts?
Frequently asked questions
How much does advertising cost in Bangladesh?
A small focused digital campaign may begin around BDT 20,000-50,000 in media spend, while a national mixed-media campaign can require several million taka. The correct amount depends on audience size, channel, duration, creative work and business objective.
What is the cheapest advertising channel?
There is no universally cheapest channel. Facebook may deliver low-cost reach, but Google may produce stronger high-intent enquiries. A small classified advertisement may be inexpensive, while a premium newspaper page is not. Compare cost per qualified result rather than only entry price.
How much should a small business spend on Facebook Ads?
A focused small-business test often requires BDT 15,000-50,000 per month in media spend. The campaign should have one clear offer, several creative versions and proper conversion tracking. Very small daily budgets can work for learning but may not produce enough data for confident decisions.
How much does a Google Ads campaign cost?
A focused Bangladesh search campaign may start with BDT 30,000-100,000 per month. Highly competitive sectors or campaigns covering many services require more. Google Keyword Planner and an account forecast should be used before launch.
How much is a newspaper advertisement?
A small notice may cost a few thousand taka, while a commercial display can cost tens or hundreds of thousands. Premium or full-page placements in national newspapers may exceed BDT 500,000-1,000,000 per insertion. Ask for the rate per column-inch, exact size and total after tax.
How much does TV advertising cost?
Published NTV examples range from BDT 2,700 to BDT 33,000 for a 30-second spot depending on time and position. A useful monthly schedule generally requires many spots, so total airtime can reach several hundred thousand or several million taka. Production and VAT are extra.
How much does an online newspaper banner cost?
Reviewed media kits show standard banner prices around BDT 40-80 CPM. One million impressions would therefore cost roughly BDT 40,000-80,000 before extras. Premium rich media, interstitials and sponsored packages cost more.
How much does press-release publishing cost?
Selected online placement can start around BDT 5,000. Multi-site packages commonly begin around BDT 20,000, while premium print, business media or strategic PR campaigns can cost much more. The final quote depends on outlet, content, language, urgency and deliverables.
How much does a billboard cost in Dhaka?
Vendor-listed ranges commonly start around BDT 30,000-150,000 per month for standard digital locations. Prime Dhaka screens and large sites may cost BDT 150,000-500,000 or more. Confirm production, installation, screen rotation and proof-of-play separately.
Are VAT and agency fees included?
Not always. Rate cards and vendor quotes may exclude VAT, tax, creative work, management, installation or technology. Request an itemized budget showing gross media, discounts, tax, production and professional fees.
How often should this report be updated?
Digital auction benchmarks should be reviewed monthly or quarterly. Publisher, broadcaster and outdoor rates should be checked before every booking. A public annual report should carry a visible last-updated date and retain archived versions for transparency.
Sources, transparency and how to cite this report
This resource is intended to be referenced by businesses, researchers, journalists and marketing professionals. When citing a particular number, preserve its evidence label and caveat. For example, describe the NTV number as a published channel rate, while describing the Google CPC range as a planning estimate that must be validated in Keyword Planner.

Data contribution policy
Media owners and advertisers can strengthen future editions by submitting dated rate cards, anonymized quotations or campaign benchmarks. Submitted figures should state the date, channel, buying unit, tax status and whether the price is a gross rate, negotiated net rate or package. Commercially sensitive client information should be removed.
Editorial update policy
This report should be reviewed quarterly. Material changes should be recorded in a public revision note. Older prices should remain identifiable by date rather than being silently presented as current official rates.
